The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

5.0

An unflinching and honest portrayal about young people living, and dying, with cancer, I pretty much sobbed my way through reading this novel. I finished it easily in one sitting (minus the multiple breaks for blowing my nose and weeping) and spent the next few hours just trying to digest it. Having lost a dear friend to cancer this fall, this book hit home in a particularly intense way for me, but it was John Green's realistic and painful depiction of his characters struggles and fears that was set me off in the first place. One of the finest YA works I have ever read, but easily readable as an adult no matter what your level of enthusiasm for Young Adult literature is.
