I read the first half of this during a weeklong trip to Marquette MI, and was tremendously engaged. I read the back half in like a day. So, so good.

An English network of family and friends is decimated by a social interloper. It’s a pretty classic framework, immaculately realized in a simultaneously splashy and intellectual manner. So spicy, so smart. I gobbled it up.
