This book started in a way that let you get to know the characters, and fall in love with them. Xander and Rain (main couple) had an instant connection. It felt as though they were meant to be together. Their conversations flowed naturally and easily. I enjoyed the sassy back-and-forth banter they had with each other.
The family on both sides were so amazing and supportive. It was so great to see the love they had for each other.
Xander was the biggest green flag I've ever seen. He had golden retriever energy, and picked up on all Rain's little cues.
There was mental health healing that I felt was represented in an amazing way, too.
Their nicknames for each other are so adorable. She calls him “Hotshot”, and he calls her “Cherry”.
Overall, I loved the book. It was a nice feel-good story that didn't have too much drama going on.
If you like small town, sports romances with depth and amazing family dynamics, you will adore this book. I found myself tearing up a few times, whether from sympathy or from laughing. It was a good time, and I would read it again.
