The Girl Before by JP Delaney
4.0

The Girl Before was another mystery thriller that I enjoyed!

It is about two woman with one thing in common: a rich husband. Now this book jumps from two point of views, Emma and Jane. Emma used to live in the house with Edward and Jane lives with him there now. Edward is something man.. I don't know how he even got these ladies to begin with.

He has this house that he built and only allows women in there that fit his creepy requirements. Again, how the fuck is he getting these women? Back to the house, it's creepy AF people. There are no light switches in it - which honestly, would suck ass. Especially for people who are afraid of the dark.. or you know being snuck up on in the dark. Yeah, not fun.

Besides that, both women are recovering from traumas. I also liked how a lot of the scenes were paralleled. Honestly these women had shitty people in their pasts so it wasn't surprising that they suffered. Then comes the "hero" Edward to sort of save the day for them. Sort of. Okay, not really.

Other than that, the characters were likable - although Edward seemed to have a stick up his ass when he got upset about the cleanliness of the house. I enjoyed the book immensely and can't wait for another one by this author.
