This book was extremely slow and I hated the characters the entire time, but somehow I found it enjoyable. I think the writing is well done and I resonated with the way Moshfegh wrote about depression and grief at times. I found the ending very abrupt but somehow it made sense for me. I equally love and hate how we do not know the main character's name.

Overall, definitely an odd read but an interesting one.
