An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
3.5

Things I liked: the enchantments, a lot of the worldbuilding, much of the characters themselves and I did feel like there was a lot of potential in the story.

However I do feel like this could have been a better book if it was a bit longer and there was more time for development. The pacing felt inconsistent and I feel like there was a lot that could have benefitted from more development. I also understand this is YA, and so Isobel being 17 is expected for that range, but it feels like there really was no reason she couldn't have been a bit older and it might have actually fit better for this particular story. And the ending...it just feels slightly out of character
for Isobel to jump directly to lets get married so Rook can be King. It feels like for someone who has been so self assured and independent, that there could have been more focus on simply her being queen and the nagivation of a mortal queen ruling the fair folk would have made an interesting sequel.
just a bit dissapointing for how much potential is there.
