Although at first the unusual breaks in sentences punctuation were a little hard to get used to (a bit like reading poetry), the overall structure of the book was beautifully crafted to create multiple characters, all with vastly different stories that nevertheless intertwine. This book explores so many perspectives, all from minority characters, while tackling issues such as racism, homophobia and sexism (as well as delving into aspects of transphobia and colourism) in our current time as well as the past.
Graphic: Domestic abuse, Toxic relationship
Moderate: Homophobia, Infidelity, Racism, Rape, Transphobia, Grief, Lesbophobia, Sexual harassment
Minor: Child death, Deadnaming, Drug use, Miscarriage, Sexual content, Suicidal thoughts, Pregnancy, Classism
