Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult

4.0

I was laying low with Covid, so I thought a novel set in Covid times was appropriate. I liked it. 4 stars is rounding up. 3.5 or so is more like it. Why? Because the writing and characters were pretty basic. The romance stuff was yawn-worthy, and with the exception of a big risk (about which I won’t say more to avoid a spoiler), the writing was fairly mundane. But the story moved along and held my interest (Especially because I was on the couch a lot feeling like crap? Perhaps). I liked it, and I appreciate its portrayal of an important chapter in our modern lives. I also appreciated the acknowledgements, in which the author shared more about her research, which gave the book a bit more weight, in my opinion.
