Nicknamed Sweet Abelli for her docile nature, Elena smiles on cue and has a charming response for everything. She’s the favored daughter, the perfect mafia principessa. Until the incident. They say first impressions are everything. Elena’s sister is arranged to marry Nicolas Russo. A Made Man, a boss, a cheat. His reputation stretches far and wide and is darker than his black suits and ties. When their first encounter ends with them both glaring at each other and Elena realising that Nico is just as handsome as he is rude, they both realise they aren’t good for each other. Elena knows he isn’t the right man for her sister but having already escaped one scandal, however, she can hardly afford to be swept up in another.

Okay so I read this book in like 2 days. That should be enough for this part of the review but I’m feeling generous so I’ll continue. This is book is a mafia romance and at first I was put off by that (not usually a fan) but I gave it a go and am so grateful that I did. This series as a whole is quickly becoming one of my favourite series and is quite possibly one of the best romances I’ve read over the last few years (minus it ends with us but that’s a whole other story). If you’re not sure you’d like mafia romances or want to start with reading them, I’d highly recommend reading this. It was so perfect I love it! And even better, it can be read as a stand-alone so you don’t have to read the whole series if you don’t want to!
