For the Throne by Hannah Whitten

4.0

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The macabre journey through the Shadowlands was full of awe-inspiring ancient gods, deep introspection, and an enemies to lovers arc that didn't feel forced although it was obvious.

I was relieved that the close relationship between Neve and Red stayed central to the story.

The book could have used some editing to winnow out repetitive prose (so much hand flexing) but it engaged me and flew by despite its length.
