I really really really wanted to like this book. I love the movie and I'm a typical the book is always better snob, with limited exceptions. This is one of them. I'm sure I'm being slightly unfair, it's not like the movie, which was my first problem. It also wasn't what I was in the mood to read right now. I wanted some light, fun and girly fiction. This turned out to read more like a history book of 3 short stories that I feel never wrapped up and the "good guys" didn't win. Very disappointed.
