Very The Fugitive, and not as good a her others in terms of the conclusion (I saw through the red herring and guessed the person responsible pretty quickly). The motive was fine and made some sense but a lot felt vague and unresolved. And the most fantastical part of the story wasn't even the unidentified criminal organization, but the fact that the main character's abusive cop ex boyfriend finally lost his job.
All in all a decent read, but lacks what I expect from Ruth Ware.
