Cursebound
by Saara El-Arifi
Things I loved:
- Queer normative world
- Diverse characters
- So much tension and angst
- Amazing world and writing
This opens up to a journal entry, which basically gives you a recap of the events from the first book (which firstly I fucking loved this detail, all books should do this, but especially fantasy).
This book id say focused less on the romance aspects but more on the politics, the workings on each relationship, the royal family, their found family, the fae as a whole especially with tension between the land running high as the light light begin to become restless with their discrimination. Then you have the war with the elves and the drama that comes with Yeeran returning home and wooowee that did not disappoint. We also get introduced to a new character whom becomes a main point to the story and SWOOON I love the connection they make to another character I also have come to love. They are just adorable.
I just, the tension, the angst, the drama, the action, the beautiful scenery, the heartbreak, the danger, the magic, the obeah, the magic, just everything, I simply adored it all. You could not predict what was going to happen and just when you think you know what’s coming, bam, another plot twist. I just could not put this down.
I am utterly stupidly in love with this series and I will forever scream at everyone to read it. I cannot and I repeat CANNOT wait for the final book release!
