Drácula by Bram Stoker

I loved the book! At first it didn't hook me that much, but I think that was because I'd been reading YA in English for a while, and switching the language, the genre and the century of the writing took some effort. But after the first 60 pages or so, I became quickly enthralled in this classic. I really liked how everything was clearly described (yeah, I even liked Van Helsing's interventions. Nowadays nobody writes dialogues where one speaks for three pages and the rest listen, but it was common back then, as shows for example Jane Austen's production) and how the characters had their doubts, their moments of weakness...
I must say, though, that the men were particularly thick. I mean, when Mina's plot-twist comes around? I knew from the first mention of her being pale, but for SOME REASON Van Helsing, a supposed expert, and the other four didn't think that maybe, just maybe, what was happening to Mina was basically the same that had happened to Lucy. Come ON. Mina, though, was quite the boss, and cleverer than the other five together by far.
