The Walking Dead, Vol. 16: A Larger World by Cliff Rathburn, Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard
3.0

New characters are introduced; one in particular named Jesus who I think has to be the lamest metaphor that has ever been written. Kirkman’s writing still hurts my brain and for any fans of the show the weakness is Kirkman’s writing becomes even clearer (the show is very well written, fantastic dialogue, believable characters). This volume isn’t the best but it’s not the worst. I feel like this volume was more about setting up things to come rather than telling a story. At the very end Rick gives this long drawn out speech about how now things are going to be different and I just shake my head because I’m pretty sure we’ve heard this about 10 times already, no Rick things won’t be different because if there was not action there would be no story, so stop trying to lure us into a false sense of security we will constantly be waiting for the next show to drop, don’t insult our intelligence. The whole give them hope and then dash their dreams only works so many times, please find something new.
