The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith
3.0
I’ll be honest, I had to round up to get to a 3. I only rounded up based on my normal enjoyment of these books.
It was long. Too long by more than half the book. At about the 1200 page mark, I said this is a really good 500 page book. Too bad it’s 1400 pages. By the end it wasn’t even a good 500 page book. The resolution was so rushed that I literally don’t even know how they got the right answer. Maybe I just didn’t care enough to pay close attention.
My dad is retired and largely housebound. He will reread the same mediocre books multiple times just for something to do. He couldn’t even finish this one.
I genuinely like this series and there were flashes of the things I liked in here but there were also hundreds and hundreds of pages of online chats between anonymous horrible people that went on far too long.
