The Music and the Mirror by Lola Keeley

5.0

Okay, so first of all, the new girl slash chosen one trope who gets to break down ice queen's exterior, I AM DOWN FOR THAT. No questions needed. I'm gonna have to give this book a 4.5 rating. It was a perfect read for me, honestly. And I'm going to jot down what I thought about this entire story starting with the cons first.

Con/s
This is one of my pet peeves-about me-that once I get to know the main characters throughout the story and their personalities and attitudes, that I immediately get to notice even the slightest change of their personality and attitude if there's one dialogue that makes my brain think they're out of character. Like we all know, in this book, Victoria Ford is your typical ice queen with a standoffish and aloof personality. But then, as she meets Anna, things started to change. I mean, I know that's a good thing and that shouldn't be a con, but I think it's probably just me that noticed it some part 3/4 towards the story that she shows little actions like smiling and teasing in front of Irina and Delphine with Anna that I think it's just way too fast for her, even for her ice-queen personality. Like she should be reserved about it first because cmon, she's your ice queen. And also, there was a part in the story that confused me when Victoria told Rick somewhere along the lines of
We're getting divorced, you and I. I think it was never really addressed towards the end and it only left me confused. Plus, I felt like there was something lacking in the ending.

Pros
The cons might be too long but I actually just have three minor issues with the book. Where to even begin with the pros? *sighs* I'm gonna have to give props to the author for sucking me into Anna and Victoria's world and ballet. I've definitely learned a lot about ballet now that I've read the story. Surprising, wow. It's like I'm in a completely different dimension reading this book and it's certainly a good thing. The characters were endearing and lovable, especially Victoria and some side characters like Delphine and Irina. This book is in my good graces and the sex scenes aren't that too detailed that's borderline erotica and I think it only added some charm to the book itself.
