Damn. The ending of the book really got me. I was wondering during the first book why Embry would reject Ash’s proposal twice, and I got my answer. I really didn’t know this side of him existed during the first book, and I’m glad I got this perspective; it was really interesting. I know the book keeps trying to hammer in the point that Embry is morally screwed up, but him having such vivid rape fantasies about Greer when he was rescuing her really didn’t sit right with me. It’s one thing to want to explore being dominant with her and things like that, but thinking about forcibly taking that as not part of a game is terrible. I’m so glad he gave her what she needed to feel safe and made sure they had a safe word when doing it; otherwise I might have DNF’ed. This book is much more BDSM and sex-heavy than the first one because introductions had already been made and relationships had already been formed, so it was even more intense than the first one. I personally think it’s too much at times, but it is interesting to read about simply for the fact that it’s a look into a way some people approach intimacy. I am looking forward to Ash’s perspective and how this will all come to an end.
Also, Guy Locke’s voice is perfect for this series.
