Follow Me Back by A.L. Jackson

5.0

This book is sweetness itself but don’t get me wrong. This story will not leave you with a toothache. I love a romcom from time to time but this isn’t one of them. Follow Me Back is an amazing story about 2 people who are meant for one another, but circumstance and life’s trials get in the way. People go through hard things and sometimes the scars left behind make moving forward seem like an impossible step to take.

Follow Me Back grabbed me from the beginning. The story is angsty, plot driven, with complex characters, and an amazing balance of all the complex ingredients that make it one of my favorite A.L. Jackson books to date, and that’s saying something. Kale is haunted by something that happened at the beginning of his career, something that left him feeling like he will always fail those closest to him. Hope is fighting for the one person that means the most to her. Both need the other and can’t quite see how much they do at first. The pull between them is too strong.

I devoured the last half of this book in one sitting. So much drama, passion, and story. I can’t wait to dive into the next in this series!

Joe Arden and Andi Ardnt bring passion to their always amazing performances. I have always thoughtJoe has an amazing kids voice and Andi gives an amazing balance of vulnerability and strength to Hope’s character.
