The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods
3.5
I just finished The Lost Bookshop, and while I enjoyed parts of it, I’m giving it 3.5 stars. The concept completely pulled me in—who doesn’t love the idea of a mysterious bookshop with hidden stories and secrets? I appreciated the dual timelines and the sense of magic woven through the narrative.
That said, the pacing felt uneven to me. There were moments I was totally absorbed, and then others that dragged a little longer than I wanted. Some character arcs felt more developed than others, and I wish certain emotional beats had hit harder.
Still, it’s a cozy, hopeful read with a lovely appreciation for books and how they shape our lives. I didn’t love it as much as I hoped, but it was a charming escape for a few afternoons.
