The Fires of Vengeance by Evan Winter

5.0

So, so good.
Somehow, Winter made everything I loved about the first book even better. The action is so well written- every fight scene is exhilarating and heart-pounding. The emotions throughout the story- grief, desire for vengeance, regret- all felt so raw and so real. I particularly loved the development of Tsiora and Esi, though it would have been cool to see more of the latter. Perhaps we will as there are some unanswered questions! I enjoyed Tau more in this book- he starts to grow, and makes fewer frustrating decisions. It was very interesting to see how his relationship with Tsiora changed him throughout. I also really liked the found family aspects. And the dragons! The dragons were great.
Overall, perhaps even better than the first one that I enjoyed so much! I can’t wait for the next instalment!
