I did enjoy this. Heavy on the sci-fi and strongly established a world that I am eager to revisit in the up-and-coming companion novel.
There were problems for me. Mostly to do with a big emotional (spoiler) moment. How that played out made it lose it's power for me. Tragedy was only touched on. I was feeling it and then it was remedied to quickly.
All in all, Glad I made this one of my last reads of the year to go out on a high! A soft-ish YA Solaris in many respects.
