The diaries of an incredible man. Alan Rickman has been one of my favourite actors for decades and his diaries have been sitting in my TBR since they were released over two years ago. He didn’t write every day and when he did it was often full of dates, appointments, or general comments about people, places, or things that somehow showed his wit and wisdom in 25-150 words.

Reasons I Recommend:

1) A brilliant actor who made some truly incredible films like Bottle Shock, A Little Chaos, Sense and Sensibility and of course Die Hard and Harry Potter

2) His love for his soulmate Rima, the woman he was with almost his entire life despite not marrying her only 3 years before his death despite being together for over 40years and

3) His strong group of friends and obvious guidance and kindness towards other actors he worked with.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

PS — Was a bit disappointed there wasn’t more feelings or thoughts behind his words but if wouldn’t have fit his style of sharing his thoughts
PPS — his diaries were gorgeous and obviously more of a creative outlet for him than the writing of his innermost thoughts

Quote 1: 12 March. Hangover. 3pm Motorbike lesson. 20 minutes to discover clutch control on something that reminds me of a big dangerous horse.

Quote 2: 10 May. Tony Blair’s standing-down speech-he could have saved himself a great deal of time by just reprinting the lyrics to My Way.

Quote 3: 29 August. 6pm Rima home. And apart from anything else the bedroom is not half-empty any more.
