The Enigma Game by Elizabeth Wein

4.0

A WWII air base in Scotland is the setting for a story of spies, codebreakers, daring night flights, and friendships. We have Louise, a West Indian/English girl who's a companion to Jane Werner, a shrewd and courageous German lady of some age who is staying mum about her origins; Ellen, a volunteer driver for the RAF who's keeping her Traveller identity under wraps; and a German pilot who may or may not be on the side of the Allies. And, of course, Jamie Beaufort-Stuart and his sister Queenie/Elisabeth Lind/Julie/Verity, whom I was heartstruck to see again. A delight to be back among old friends.
