Oh I’m so sad to say this but by the end of this book I was somewhat bored.

The book started strong, if not quite how I expected. I was intrigued and ready to learn about specific cases (which you eventually do), even if the intro feels like its multiple chapters long. The writing is informal, and chatty, but I quite enjoyed that - even if there are long, winding digressions during the course of the book.

It can’t be avoided but there are so many names and I felt like I needed a cheat sheet to understand who was who and how they intertwined. This didn’t help my boredom as I actually got lost during certain parts of each case and I found I was skipping parts because I didn’t understand the timeline.

There’s obviously previous knowledge needed that I was missing. It wasn’t an awful read but I definitely considered putting it down at least once.
