Winterdance: The Fine Madness of Running the Iditarod by Gary Paulsen
4.0
A compelling, if somewhat unreliable, narrative of a rookie running the Iditarod.
Paulsen’s writing is lean and tough, well suited to his material. I wasn’t expecting a grim humorist angle to be present as well, and it lends some genuine levity to his otherwise dire straits.
I don’t usually go for dog books, but this is something special. Recommended.
