I've been very aware of this book for years and ignored it because I didn't think I'd enjoy it. Some reviews changed my mind and I'm glad I finally picked it up because it surprised me in a few ways. It was much funnier than I was expecting and I became invested in the characters' lives very quickly. Mason's writing was brilliant and made a heavy subject really accessible. Her depiction of mental illness was like nothing I've read before and I appreciated the exploration of how important a diagnosis can be.
