The potential for this story shows up way too late for it to pay off in any way, and I guess I'm having less and less tolerance for men being straight up hurtful towards their love interests in an attempt to shield themselves. I wish Sarah MacLean had leaned more into Alec and Lily working together rather than fighting, and the ending feels both rushed and drawn out somehow?
