I'll See You Again by Jackie Hance

5.0

I’ll See You Again is a heartbreaking look into a mother’s grief. After a tragic accident takes all three of her young daughters' lives, Jackie Hance tries to pick up the pieces. She doesn’t shy away from her emotions in this book. It’s a very difficult read, but I feel like Jackie manages to add relatable lessons for all of us along the way.
In my opinion, many of the reviews about the author’s personal character are unfair. While there are moments in the book when she acts unreasonably, most of the book is written within a year and a half of the accident. I don’t expect anyone to have perfect coping mechanisms after just 18 months. She also doesn’t mention much about her husband’s emotions at the time, but I didn’t really expect her to. After all, it's her memoir and there’s no way she could have known how he was feeling in those moments.
