What can I say about this box of surprises? I started reading expecting an action-packed fantasy with a lot of world building, but this book isn't about that, it's much better. The first parts of the book are very focused on the development of the characters and the interactions between them, transforming unknown criminals into a family. The problem with this is that by 200-page mark the protagonists have barely set out on the mission, which causes the feeling of going in circles, even though the characters are very fun to read about. Until the climax begins to unfold and it becomes impossible to put the book down before discovering what the future holds for the characters we have grown so attached to, and Leigh did not disappoint, each page made my heart race faster and all the plot twists surprised me. To sum it up in a few words: intriguing, surprising and fascinating.
