The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey
1.0
Evelyn has successfully revolutionized science in making clones. Martine is Evelyn's clone, who is now her ex-husband's wife. In a turn of events, the said husband is now dead and these two are going to cover it up.
Alright, this book has been on top of my 2021 most anticipated releases. I mean, a clone? A dead husband? Trying to cover it up?? That sounds exciting!
But the execution came out flat. Evelyn has to be one of the most boring characters that I have encountered. There was nothing there other than science. At some point, the book became repetitive. A flashback, saying that she doesn't trust Seyed, asking Martine is she's okay, science science. Then repeat.
I have tried the audiobook when that stopped working, I started the ebook. It honestly put me in a slump. There were a lot of scientific detail in it that I was hoenstly thinking if I was reading a science textbook for a moment.
There were a lot of loopholes in it. One of the biggest questions would be: Why on earth was no one looking for Nathan? He had been gone for months and no one thought of hitting him up and ask if he was okay?
Almost DNF'd.
