An inventive mystery novella by the fantasy master with a refreshing heft for a science fiction piece. It puts a twist on psychology and the capacities of the human mind. It surprisingly features some of the very few Filipino characters I’ve encountered in U.S. fiction. While all that’s a bonus, I recommend you pick this up as palate cleanser during an epic fantasy tome diet.
