I was so excited for a dark Victorian thriller and this...wasn't it.

80% of it was building towards a beautiful but out-of-context love story and then in the last few chapters you suddenly get hit with character development and some fast-paced action. And in the space of a chapter you lose and gain the main character in a disappointing final twist
