First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston

Evie Porter has everything a nice, Southern girl could want: a perfect, doting boyfriend, a house with a white picket fence and a garden, a fancy group of friends. The only catch: Evie Porter doesn’t exist.

We picked this book for our October book club because you have to do a thriller in October! I found this book super engaging. I loved the dual timelines giving us these little puzzle pieces to put together along the way. I did not see the twists coming. I liked that Ryan was supposed to be this super squeaky clean perfect guy but he actually had a darker background than we realized. At one point we are questioning who everyone is! Sometimes I did wonder if we needed so much background on these previous personas Evie had, but overall I loved this one!
