I loved the depth and detail regarding transsexuality, the criminal system, and bees/beekeeping. As always, Picoult asks thought provoking questions on pertinent issues of our time while enveloping it in a fascinating yet tragic but hopeful story. One of my favorites of hers (albeit co-written). Picoult never gives an answer, shows shades of grey in seemingly black or white issues, including the final twist.
