To Green Angel Tower: Siege by Tad Williams

5.0

I gave books 1 and 2 four stars, and the first part of book 3 five stars. I’m excited to see what I think of the finale, and also whether if the book was one large tome, would I be as impressed.

I can only rate what’s in front of me and this book didn’t let up. Relentless for a high fantasy novel, there was little wasted movement, it’s like Williams has hit his stride and now he’s built his house of cards, he can knock it down with gleeful abandon.

A rather unusually small amount of Binabik in this novel, which made me sad, but I am fascinated by the Sithi, even if most of the prophecies and the conclusion is still yet to be determined and realised. He’s making you work for your climax, and that’s a good thing.

I feel like this whole saga so far has been luxurious, the stately feel of a truly luxury product. Delving into and exploring this land of Osten Ard with who is clearly and absolute master of his craft. This is truly exceptional storytelling, and yes it is wordy, but I am here for it.

Can’t wait to get myself sat down and strapped in for the final book!
