i read over half this book while waiting for a library hold. the opening premise was interesting and reminded me of a modern take on the awakening… but it went downhill fast. the main character is obnoxious and reeks of authorial self-insert. rock bottom for me was the scene that explicitly describes

inserting someone else’s tampon and sticking your hand in a pee stream as a higher spiritual connection than sex
