James' prologue was delightful - catching the reader up with the six years since Elizabeth and Jane were married - and lifts your hopes. The plot of the book...woof. The mystery is very poorly plotted, Elizabeth has little to do and any pretences of historic accuracy fly out the window the moment the characters worry about...moving the body.

This has a reputation as one of the best Austen sequels. It's about as good as Mrs. Bennet's boiled potatoes.
