One of the best contemporary, non-PNR, why chooses I’ve read in a long time. Hilarious, spicy, and well written. The self-deprecating humor of the FMC was a breath of fresh air, although her body image issues were a little obnoxious at times. Realistic, but eye-rolling all the same.

I enjoyed the overarching story that was well balanced between the development of their relationships overall. I was pleasantly surprised at how focused the story was on societal acceptance of polyamorous relationships, which added to the realism of the story and the emotional struggles each character suffered through.

I loved that there was M/M and pegging; the spice was not boring by ANY means. There was no grand orgy, much to my disappointment, but the M/M/F scene was pretty satisfying.

The humor and references were spot on and hilarious. Some of my favorite quotes:

“He had the basic white guy sleeve starter pack.”

“I was pretty sure Darwin was snake charming me with his giant anaconda.”

“Jesus H. Christevelt,”

“There were three things you shouldn’t skimp on in life: a new bed, hair appointments, and things that will give you countless years of orgasms. Pretty sure Nostradamus said that.”

“My obituary would read something like He couldn’t handle all that junk inside her trunk. RIP.”

“I was basically a dick dragon.”
