The author sent me this book in exchange for an honest review.

My first thought was that this is a very short novel. It didn't take me long to read it even though I wasn't really hooked.
I think the writing is okay. It's very straight forward. The author didn't waste much time on descriptions but she didn't completely let them out so you still had a good idea for what was happening.

What bothered me about this book was the protagonist. I just don't think her reactions seemed real. There were times where I just got so irritated with her because she didn't seem scared at all. And she should have been. This made it really hard for me to relate to her. This wasn't just because she is a brave girl. When it fit the story better for her to be afraid of something or someone, she suddenly wasn't that brave.

I think this book is good if you are a new reader or if you just don't like long and detailed stories. But if you are an avid reader or just prefer thick books I don't think this is the right book for you.
