5.0

The Polar Express has become a classic story to celebrate the Christmas holiday. This book was written and illustrated by Chris Vans Allsburg in 1985. It won the Caldecott Award in 1986 for its beautifully depicted illustrations.
SpoilerThis book is about a young boy who is told by a friend that Santa does not exist. The boy continues to believe in Santa even though he is slowly losing faith. In the middle of the night, a train picks him up and he is whisked away on a journey to the North Pole. When he gets there, Santa comes up to him and asks him to pick one gift and he chooses the bell that the reindeers are wearing. This bell is magic and only works if you believe in Santa and the Christmas experience. Throughout the boy’s life, his friends and family forget to believe in Santa and no longer are able to hear the bell, but the boy never stops hearing it because he never stops believing.
