mpschaff 's review for:
Bayou Moon
by Ilona Andrews
William's characterization here is a standout. One wouldn't necessarily call him "simple" but that's what he is. His needs and wants are clear and admirable and he would love if everyone else's were just as clear. That being said, at no time do you feel he's stupid or lacking.
I did feel the story ran out of steam at the end. At some point, it became more important to set up the next few books in the series than give a solid and satisfying ending for these two. It's well written, but just didn't pack the emotional punch I was hoping for. On to the next book!
