“My purpose, my whole life, had been to love him and be with him, to make him happy. I didn’t want to cause any unhappiness now—in that way, I decided it was probably better than he wasn’t here to see this, though I missed him so much at that moment the ache of it was as bad as the strange pains in my belly.”

This was so heartwarming and beautiful and something I didn't know I needed in my life.

It's written in such a perfectly innocent way, it's exactly how I picture dogs actually thinking/processing the world. I can't even put into words what I loved so much about this book because I loved it all. It had me feeling all of the feelings, happiness, hope, anger and utter heartbreak, many, many tears were cried during the reading of this book.

I have a terrible memory but I don't think I'll ever forget this beautiful story.
