Deviant Betrayal by L.V. Lane

This is the third book featuring Lilly, Ethan and Ryker and cannot be read stand alone. Lilly is an omega whose dynamic revealed itself very late, long after the point at which she had become an independent and self-sufficient woman. She was determined to avoid the control of an alpha for as long as possible but the war with The Uncorrupted puts paid to those plans. Now Lilly finds herself with not one but two alphas, alphas who are also Controllers. Like all later revealing omegas she has a singularity, a "gift" although Lilly's is more like a curse, especially as the uniqueness of it has caught the interest of some very unpleasant people.

Somehow the author has managed to craft an omega who is totally enamoured with her alpha's - though perhaps not so pleased about their punishments - whilst still retaining an air of strength and independence. In part this has been achieved by Lilly accepting and even embracing her fate because she doesn't lie to herself about how much she enjoys what they do. Ethan in particular also seems to demonstrate a great respect for Lilly's achievements and her ambitions. If only he thought to trust her with some of his secrets!

A foolish decision to trust someone who was once close to her leaves Lilly in a horrific situation. We do experience some of her suffering, but for those who require trigger warnings it isn't too graphic, nor are there any non-consent sexual encounters. Ethan and Ryker come into their own during this time, and whilst we've already seen Lilly undergo personal growth this is where we see the men mature emotionally.

The previous book introduced us to more of this world but this book really threw the doors open wide. It was great to see some familiar faces turn up to help save the day. Whilst I loved catching up with them I'm not sure if I cared for having scenes from their POV thrown into the mix. I appreciate the author was probably allowing us to catch up with these couples in real time and there was no way these scenes could have been epilogues in earlier books as that would have made spoilers for this story. With three POVs already these extra ones were just a little too much for me.

I really enjoyed this trilogy and hope to read book #8 in the series, which also features these three. I definitely recommend this series both for omegaverse and for SFR fans. For continuity and spoiler purposes I will continue to read the series in release order.
