I can appreciate that this is a classic and has some obvious writing skill behind it. (Hence 3 stars). However, it was rough read. The characters were nothing short of heartless monsters. The lack of remorse after a truly tragic event, was a soul crushing end to a tiresome read of hoping for “more”. But then again, maybe that was the point? I just didn’t enjoy it.
