Love's Encroachment by Love Belvin
1.0

Changing my rating from two stars to one, I was attempting to be generous with my initial rating. I simply will never understand how this book managed to receive so many five star ratings, when the writing is very much so lackluster at best. Nothing about the relationship between the two main characters feels real or plausible. Finishing this was one of the most difficult things I ever done. Honestly I would suggest the author take a writer’s workshop or something because somehow everything from the plot to their relationship felt unbelievably forced. Then the way she includes past characters always feels so unnatural. It’s almost like she has a vision of how she wants this book to go and doesn’t care how little it makes sense; she’s still going to write it regardless. There’s also a scene in the book when the son, Zo, is meeting his cousin whom has cerebral palsy that made me cringe more than I ever have in my life. All in all I would suggest that the author seriously takes time before writing her next book and improve her craft because writing this bad just should not be happening
