The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule

5.0

Wow! I haven't been this invested in a true crime story since Rule's book on the Green River killer and this book took me far less time to get through it. There's a very interesting progression from naively believing Bundy is innocent to the realization that he did the crimes he's on trial for. I love Rule's honesty.

I found very little to pick apart except the Q & A section: I'm entirely against the death penalty and don't buy the argument that Bundy deserved to die because he could escape again. That says more about the state of American prisons than it does about Bundy. That was Ann Rule's opinion in the Q & A right at the beginning of the edition I have.

It's a must read for all true crime fans.
