An unexpected Treasure.
Why is this book not talked about more?!?!
I honestly picked this book up as I'd had it my shelves a while and thought I could read it and donate it. This book is not going anywhere!
There is a raw and endearing melancholy to this book which took my breath away. I got completely immersed in the beauty of Alaska which the author did an incredible job of describing.
Jack and Mabel stole my hearts and my heart was in my mouth the whole time of reading, fearful that they would lose their snow child. This book captures the grief of infertility and stillbirth in all it's painful reality but skilfully manages to keep an air of hope.
This book carries a sadness within it's pages but somehow the sadness is still beautiful. It really is incredibly hard to articulate - you just need to read it!!
I honestly cannot recommend this book enough. Just beautiful.
