Got in the mood to re-read this old classic, which was a favourite book of many of my peers in high school. Not sure why as the book is full of Stalin terror era references that aren't easily understood without footnote explanations. It is more understandable when read in the original Russian to be honest.
The first half of the book is interesting and entertaining but from Woland's ball onwards it becomes more arduous, more absurd and the ending is rather underwhelming.
