The Right Move by Liz Tomforde

3.5⭐️ I finally picked up this book after seeing everyone talking about Ryan Shay being the ultimate book boyfriend. It didn’t disappoint. I loved Ryan and I loved Indy. Both of them were perfect individually and I loved them together and how they made each other better. The side characters were sweet too and made the whole story feel so much more relatable and realistic.

This was a solid 4⭐️ read for me until the last 25% of the book and then the miscommunication/lack of communication part of it was a bit of a letdown for me. That climax didn’t feel believable for these two characters after everything they had already been through together and how much they both loved each other. Throughout the book, Indy was strong-willed and said what she wanted and she had no problem putting Ryan in his place when needed. Ryan was really level-headed and controlled in how he managed their relationship too, so the conflict that caused their “separation” just didn’t seem believable to the storyline for them. They had come so far in their relationship and the trust between them was strong, so Ryan’s freak out and him jumping to conclusions didn’t seem like his nature. It felt immature and unlikely that he would react that way even with what he had been through.

I still would highly recommend this book. It’s a sweet low angst story, with a great friends to lovers feel and the banter and care between the two of them is sweet. I can see why everyone looks to Ryan Shay as book boyfriend/real boyfriend goals. This was a fun read.
